Jim Donovan has just died in Eastbourne hospital after a long illness. He was very brave up until the end. I was able to see him in June and spoke to him on the phone a few days before he died. Jim was in Wilken Air about 1965 then joined EAA until 1970 when he left to go to BOAC [BA].I am sure many of the lads would remember him. He was married to Denise, a French lady who unfortunately passed away 4 years ago. I know Ted Alleyne, Gerry Clemmow, Jerry Sirley,Chris Noon, Alan Ratcliffe, Ian Cook,Dick Hewitt, yourself and many others would remember him. Unfortunately there is no family except his niece who has been organizing the funeral next Friday morning,[21st August] 9.45am at Eastbourne Crematorium, funeral directors are Coopers & Son in Seaford Tel 01323 492666. Jim missed his Africa days and was always reminiscing. Unfortunately, he was never well enough to attend the EAA reunions but was able to speak to some of us on the phone.
